Spain 1 - 0 England.

Congratulations to Spain on their victory! England came close to scoring near the start after Lauren Hemp hit the crossbar. But then Spain proceeded to dominate nearly all of the first half after that moment. The second half was more evenly-matched. But Spain defended well to stop England scoring an equaliser.

It's remarkable that Spain have won the tournament, since it was less than 12 months ago that many players were refusing the play for the national side (after falling out with the manager). However, the Spanish FA stuck with their manager, called up a bunch of new players, and now have recovered from that situation.

It's a shame to see the Lionesses lose. But it's still a great achievement that they managed to make it to the final, while also missing a few key starting 11 players missing through injury.

Congrats to Spain - and well-deserved! They did indeed do a remarkable job to get this far, after the turmoil of last year.

Sad to see the Lionesses falling at the final hurdle - but they've done us proud to get this far !
